Course location
Question : Where do mermaid classes take place?
Answer : Mermaiding courses are given exclusively at home, in villas or private pools throughout the Var (Grimaud, Saint-Tropez, Sainte-Maxime, Hyères, Toulon) as well as on the French Riviera (Cannes, Antibes, Nice, Monaco).
Supervision and security
Question: Who leads the session and how is safety ensured?
Answer : The course is led by Lauriane Audran (Freya the Mermaid), actress and freediver. For absolute safety, the presence of a state-certified lifeguard (MNS DE) is always ensured to supervise the pool.
Age and prerequisites
Question: From what age can one participate in mermaid classes?
Answer : The courses are open to children from 7 years old as well as adults. The only mandatory prerequisite is knowing how to swim and being completely comfortable in the water.
Materials and equipment
Question: Is the mermaid equipment provided for the session?
Answer : Yes, all equipment (high-quality monofins and mermaid tails) is provided for the course. You only need to bring your swimsuit and goggles or a swimming mask.
Course outline
Question : How does a home mermaiding session work?
Answer: The session begins with a safety briefing at the water's edge, followed by a warm-up, learning undulation techniques with the monofin, fun underwater courses (hoops, objects to collect at the bottom), an introduction to apnea reflexes and a free swimming period with photos.
